The Italian Class 691 was a gorgeous steam locomotive, considered by many collectors to be one of the finest Pacific's ever developed. The 691 was joint venture between "Kraus Maffei" the Bavarian locomotive builder and "Breda" the Italian locomotive builder. The 691 incorporated the "Maffei's"patented four cylinder drive system making it one of the fastest Pacific's ever built. The 691 was used for heavy express service between Milan and Rome. Micro-Metakit's model is simply remarkable! It features a finctional and replicated 4 cylinder drive, brushless, ironless "Faulhaber" motor, full cab interior, functional speedometer cable, functional boiler hatch with inner boiler details. The 691 is handmade out of brass and has too many technical and optical details to list. Since they were delivered in January of 1998, only two versions are still available. We only have a few of each version in stock, so order soon. View a larger image of this exquisite model (32kb). |
