Prototype: The MZ class diesel electric locomotives of the Danish Railways are 6 axle freight locomotives used primarily in freight service. Sixty-one units of the MZ class were built from 1967 to 1978 by NOHAB under license from EMD. The MZs developed 3845 HP and reached a maximum speed of 103 MPH (165 KPH). Most were sold to private train operators and railroads in Scandinavia and Australia in the early 2000s.
