    Artitec 87.033 Highlights:

Model: Artitec's 87.033 1/87 WWII Liberator 42WLA is a resin kit and is unpainted.

Prototype: Nicknamed the “Liberator”, the Harley-Davidson 42WLA was the most-produced American motorcycle of the Second World War (over 90,000 were produced during the war). The 42WLA was a military adaptation of Harley-Davidson’s W-Series motorcycles, unveiled in 1937. It was powered by a 450 cubic inch 739 cc flathead engine which was equipped with a recirculating oil system that cut back on maintenance time. The 42WLA’s engine purposely had a lower compression ratio than its civilian counterparts so that it could gun on gasoline that might be poorly refined. 42WLAs were primarily used for courier, communications, and reconnaissance duties. After the war, many GIs who loved riding the motorcycles during the war purchased surplus 42WLAs and customized them to their personal tastes, laying the foundation for American biker phenomenon.
