Artitec 87.034 Highlights:
Model: Artitec's 87.034 1/87 scale 350cc triumph military motorcycle is a resin kit and is unpainted.
Prototype: Triumph Engineering Co. Ltd. was an early British manufacturer of motorcycles, producing its own designs beginning in 1905. When the Second World War began, Triumph developed a 350cc twin-cylinder motorcycle, the 3TW, for the British armed forces. On the evening of November 14 1940 Triumph’s Coventry factory was destroyed in the infamous German air raid and the company lost its molds and plans for its 350cc twin engine. Triumph salvaged what equipment it could and opened a new factory in Meriden producing 350cc motorcycles with single-cylinder side-valve engine (3SW) and single-cylinder overhead-valve engines (3HW). These engines produced 70 hp and had a maximum speed of 71 mph. Despite its setback at Coventry in 1940, Triumph built over 40,000 motorcycles for the British armed forces during the war.
