Between 1968 and 1975, the BVZ with the A 2071-2078 or B 2281-2290 procured a total of 18 new coaches. The vehicles produced at the SIG are closely related with the unit carriages type III of the SBB Brünigbahn and cars of the Bernese Oberland Railway. Thanks to its multiple control cable utilized 2251-2254 in the commuter train service together with the driving trailer BT; often are or were also in the "Glacier Express". Two of the first class coach were in the meantime equipped with a baggage compartment and referred to as AD 2077-2078. After the merger of the BVZ with the FO to the Matterhorn Railway (MGB) were conducted Gotthard modifications to ventilation and additional units on the roof mounted.
