Product Features and Details
These engines are used for shunting and handling. They are employed on industrial sidings and in railway workshops. They are the small helpers at nearly all stations and the big stars at Brawa. For more than 30 years, special limited editions for collectors have been available from Brawa. Whether model railways or as a model: without these little diesel engines, in use since the 1930s, many stations would not be able to operate.
After the Second World War, the newly formed German Federal Railways (DB) included 444 Köf II engines in its rolling stock. However, the need for a locomotive of this type was so great that a further 735 units of this small, sturdy type were purchased. Well designed, tried and tested in operation, and with good performance and consumption figures - there were many good reasons for using these engines.
