    HO Scale DC Era I 

    From 1909 onwards, the K.W.St.E.?s freight cars were gradually repainted in accordance with the Staatsbahn Wagenverband?s regulations. The 1863 salt cars were also painted brown. They were used to transport cook-ing salt to consumers from the Württemberg salt mine in Kochendorf. The freight hopper was covered with flaps to protect the moisture-sensitive salt from atmospheric influence.
