Product Features and Details
Wood has always been an important trading commodity for Bavaria. Transport was basically reliant on rafting of timber. This changed with the first railway lines. The wood could now be transported easily and quickly. Pairs of long cars with a suitable coupling spacing to match the length of the transported logs were used for transporting complete tree trunks. According to the large forest resources, the Königlich Bayerische Staatseisenbahn (Royal Bavarian State Railway) had a large number of log cars in its rolling stock.
