Product Features and Details
To transport heavy and bulky freight, the K.P.E.V. also had special cars in its fleet. Use of these cars was subject to special regulations. They always had to be at the front of the train in order to be uncoupled at the shunting stations. Due to their offset sole bars, depressed centre flat cars were not permitted to travel over shunting humps. Due to the industrial revolution and increased exports of mechanical engineering products, the cars with the large wooden crates were commonly seen on trains bound for the North Sea and Baltic ports.
