Today the Ahaus Altstätter Eisenbahn AAE is the market leader for the hiring of standard freight cars. Customers can choose from a fleet of 20,000 freight cars. One of its major areas of concentration is the hiring of cars for container traffic. This is why AAE has the “megafret” 8-axle double cars as part of its stock. They can load various combinations up to four 20-foot containers. The cars are in service on all European railways, including the UK.
