Product Features and Details
In contrast to the Deutsche Bundesbahn, the tank waggons operated by the Deutsche Reichsbahn remained railway property and were leased to the transporting companies. Of the 6-axle tank waggons, a little over sixty units were left in the Soviet occupation zone and operated mostly for companies in central Germany. The 53-40-01 waggon served VEB Farbenfabrik Wolfen for the transport of acids, and was home-based in the Bitterfeld station for this purpose. It was maintained in the Zwickau repair depot.
