New Mould 2009
Even after the UIC-compliant re-designation of open freight cars as E 017, nearly all cars were in the stock of the Deutsche Bundesbahn. The brakeman's cabs were gradually removed during periods at the repair shop. However, the prominent metal cars were still a part of the image of freight trains for a very long time. Only at the end of the 1970s was it possible to sometimes dispense with the old Omm52 and they were increasingly used in the newly created turnip car fleet.
