Work cars have always been indispensable to the railway. So they were z. B. used on any construction site as small as the transport of building materials such as ballast or tools. However, since these so-called X-wagons could not be used to transport money for the transport of goods for third parties, from the very beginning they were anxious to find favorable solutions for the procurement of wagons. As a solution, it was advisable to prepare this older cars by conversion to work cars and adapt to the new requirements. Due to the ever-changing needs and cancellations of worn-out cars, the number of X-cars fluctuated between about 48,500 (1920), 25,000 (1930); 41,500 (1943) and 15,000 (1953) again and again strong. The type Xr 35 chosen by BRAWA is based on Gms 30 type wagons built at the beginning of the 1950s. or even before due to war damage, lost their car bodies. The remaining landing gear was equipped with new, fixed side walls and thereby adjusted the car to their changing responsibilities.
