Information about the model
While there was no shortage of older baggage cars for use with the rebuilt coaches, and the Delitzsch Railway Works (Raw Delitzsch) was simultaneously converting older baggage cars into so-called modernization cars, a car with only a small baggage compartment for use on lines with low traffic volume was lacking. Therefore, in 1969, a rebuilt coach with a baggage compartment was developed, designated BDghwse and already given a computer-compatible number. From 1973 onwards, 202 of these cars were procured, many of which were used in express train services, thus reaching West Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Poland.
