    The Model:
    With interior fittings. Super-detailling, -livery and -lettering. Inset windows, some of which are open. Centre axle slides sideways. The coach is equipped ready to install interior lighting. Epoch III.

    Based on:
    11,903 compartment coaches of the Prussian style were still registered by the DB in 1952 - a remarkable stock, despite there being a large number destroyed during the 2nd World War. Even though the wooden bodied coaches were, in part, over half a century old, the newly born Deutsche Bundesbahn could not dispense with them for local, and more importantly, the commuter services. The large number of doors enabled passengers to board and alight quickly, although for the following construction styles this could not be considered a cost basis. Therefore the Prussian compartment coaches continued to run in complete train rakes, as can be seen in this atmospheric illustration from Frankfurt / M main station as well as intermixed with corridor stock, like for example, the "Thunderboxes" (art. no: 5073 - 5077). The locos used for hauling these trains were primarily the Prussian P8 (Class 38.10, art. no: 4162, 4165, 4166) and the Prussian T 18 (Class 78.0-5, art. no: 4078). The middle of the 1950's saw the beginning of the discontinuation of the compartment coaches, as they were gradually replaced by the newly constructed steel bodied coaches which had contemporary interior fittings, and were mounted on still useable triple and four axle chassis. (Convert coaches art. no: 5096 - 5099/5127 - 5129). The appearance of the "silver fishes" resulted in the complete disappearance of the last examples of the Prussian compartment coaches, which were finally taken out of service on the DB in 1963. At the start of the fifties, the Deutsche Bundesbahn still possessed a large number of triple axled Prussian built types. The FLEISCHMANN models, 5065 - 5069, are excellent for negotiating tight curves. The central axle is capable of sliding sideways so that they will easily go round tight bends. Fine details, with perfect colouring and lettering ensure that they look just right.
