The type Bi coach was made with steel and prefabricated body frames. Basically, it was decided to build all two-axle and three-axle vehicles uniformly as two-axle trucks. . In the design of the interior, it was decided for a metropolitan area with the seat arrangement as 2 + 2. The ÖBB conversion program also included two- and three-axle Austrian designs and vehicles of German Länderbahnbauarten, which had remained at the end of the war in Austria.
