The Schlesienmodelle EP07-411 (catalogue no. 107019) is a finely detailed H0-scale (1:87) model representing one of Poland’s most recognizable electric passenger locomotives operated by PKP Intercity S.A. The model depicts locomotive EP07-411, based at the Zaklad Centralny Warszawa and revised at ZNTKiM Gdansk in August 2008, finished in the striking white-and-red PKP Intercity livery characteristic of the late 2000s. Measuring approximately 183 mm over buffers, the model faithfully reproduces the proportions of its prototype, capturing details such as the twin AKP-4E pantographs, finely etched body grilles, rivet detailing, and realistic halogen-style headlights. It features a metal chassis for smooth running, a Co-Co wheel arrangement, and comes equipped for analogue operation with an MTC21 digital interface for future DCC or sound upgrades.

The prototype EP07 series has long been a cornerstone of Polish passenger rail service. Derived from the earlier EU07 design—originally based on British-built locomotives supplied by English Electric in the 1960s—the EP07s were modernized for higher-speed passenger work. The conversion program began in the 1980s, fitting new gearing, electrical equipment, and improved traction motors, allowing a top speed of around 125 km/h. By the 2000s, EP07s like No. 411 were a familiar sight hauling InterCity and regional express trains across the Polish network, from Warszawa and Krakow to Gdansk and Wroclaw. Their robust construction and reliability have earned them a reputation as the workhorses of PKP passenger service.

Schlesienmodelle’s interpretation of the EP07 stands out for its prototype fidelity and craftsmanship. The model replicates the revised body style seen after mid-2000s overhauls, including new fan housings, updated buffer beams, and correct roof resistors. Fine details—such as accurate bogie frames, realistic roof cabling, and crisp paintwork—reflect the manufacturer’s focus on authentic Polish subjects rarely covered by major Western brands. The EP07-411’s distinctive “Denaturat” color scheme, as enthusiasts call it, captures an important period in PKP Intercity’s modernization and branding transition.

Although now sold out and out of production (“Wyprzedany – nie bedzie wznawiany”), model 107019 remains highly sought-after among collectors and Polish railway enthusiasts. With its combination of authentic Polish heritage, sharp detailing, and excellent running qualities, Schlesienmodelle’s EP07-411 is a superb addition to any Central European collection—celebrating both the engineering legacy of the Polish State Railways and the enduring appeal of its iconic electric locomotives.
