Product Features and Details
Märklin's factory locomotive is a genuine Győr machine. Manufactured by the long-established Rába company based in Győr, the M 28 was produced in a limited run of approximately 100 units. Not only the state railway but also private and industrial railways acquired this locomotive and used it for light shunting duties. M 28 1001 is the first locomotive of this series, produced in 1955. This small, two-axle diesel locomotive was recently transported by low-loader from the railway museum in Budapest to the Märklin factory in Győr. At the Märklin Győr factory, the employees meticulously refurbished and restored the locomotive. They chose RAL 6020 chrome oxide green for the paint scheme, giving the locomotive a 1970s livery, representing Era IV. Now it stands directly at the main entrance of the Märklin factory and points to the model railway products manufactured here.
