Body: Chassis and wheels of die cast metal, 5 pole, skewwound motor with ?ywheel, traction tyres, digital interface for plug-in 21-pin decoder, close coupling, coupling shaft as per NEM 362, triple headlights LED alternating with the direction of travel, recommended minimum radius 360 mm, l.o.b.: 188 mm.
On 28th April 1989 the two prototype locomotives of the diesel loco class 217 001 and 217 002 were officially declared as service vehicles for internal purposes, a change in the numbers being effected to 753 001 and 753 002. Both locomotives have already called on since 1974 for test and measuring purposes in connection with the testing of vehicles and have acted, for example, as a braking locomotive. The renaming thus had a purely formal character.
