Product Features and Details
Pre-war type, welded tank, in each case with brakeman’s platform. Set consists of 2 wagons, close coupling kinematics, coupling shaft as per NEM 362, l.o.b.: 101 mm per wagon.
The first welded boiler wagons were built in the mid-thirties of the past century. These wagons were based on the chassis developed for open wagons with a common length over the buffers of 8.80 m and 4.50 wheelbase. One or multi-chambered boilers were set on this chassis with a capacity of about 20 -22 m3 (with insulation as required), later also up to 27 m3 . Furthermore, there were numerous variants of chemical tank wagons based on the same chassis with a volume of between about 10 and 16 m3 . The wagons were procured in large numbers and have characterised the goods train image over the centuries. The last ones, which by that time had been equipped with roller bearing wheel sets, were only decommissioned in the late nineties.
