Marklin 30391-1 - Marklin Tin Plate Retro Rheingold Set

    Product Features and Details
HO Scale AC Era III MFX Includes a digital decoder

The class E10 electric locomotive marked the moment when the German Federal Railroad (DB) made a decisive leap forward during the early years of the Economic Miracle. Regular production began in 1956, delivering a fast and elegant 5,000-horsepower locomotive capable of 140 km/h (87.5 mph). These dependable machines quickly became a common sight across DB main lines. In 1965, Märklin introduced its legendary model of the E10—crafted with a heavy die-cast metal body, excellent detailing, and proven propulsion technology. It became an instant sales success and set new standards for durability and realism. However, one iconic version remained absent: the “Bügelfalte” (“pants crease”) E10.3, especially in the prestigious cobalt blue / beige livery used for the luxurious TEE Rheingold and Rheinpfeil express trains rated for 160 km/h (100 mph) service. Now, that long-standing wish of Märklin enthusiasts is finally fulfilled.

This retro tin plate edition presents the class E10.12 Bügelfalte in its striking cobalt blue / beige Rheingold livery, faithfully evoking the golden era of the German Federal Railroad and the legendary metal models from Göppingen. The massive die-cast metal construction gives the locomotive the weight, presence, and authenticity collectors expect—while modern digital technology ensures outstanding running performance.
