Product Features and Details
The new Märklin model pays fitting tribute to this highly valued workhorse of the railway – as a finely detailed 1:87 scale European steam locomotive. Prototype: Class 56.34-35 freight tender steam locomotive of the German Reichsbahn (DRB), formerly Class 270 of the Imperial and Royal State Railways (kkStB) and the Austrian Federal Railways (BBÖ).
Operating condition after the BBÖ was incorporated into the German Reichsbahn from 1938.
Model: With mfx+ digital decoder and extensive light and sound functions. Controlled high-efficiency propulsion with flywheel in the boiler. One axle directly driven, three axles driven via coupling rods. Traction tires. Locomotive and tender largely made of metal. Standard built-in smoke generator with speed-dependent, dynamic smoke emission. Directional two-light headlights, conventionally operational, digitally switchable. Cab lighting, firebox flicker, and running gear lighting are separately digitally switchable. Lighting with maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs. With energy storage. Close coupling with kinematics between locomotive and tender. Buffer height on locomotive and tender according to NEM standards.
Minimum radius for operation: 360 mm. Piston rod protection tubes and brake hoses are included. Length over buffers approx. 20.0 cm.
Highlights:
- Completely new design.
- Detailed construction, largely made of metal.
- Drive system in the locomotive.
-- Finely detailed design with numerous separately applied parts. True-to-prototype and finely reproduced all locomotive-specific details, including the characteristic Kobel smokestack, the large Austrian lamps, and the classic kkStB cab.
- Standard with smoke generator and speed-dependent, dynamic smoke emission.
- Cab lighting, firebox flicker, and chassis lighting are digitally switchable.
- Buffer height according to NEM standards.
- With buffer storage to bridge short periods of power loss.
A matching freight car set is also available in the Märklin H0 range under item number 46570.
