    Locomotive Prototype History:

    The French East Railroad (EST) Class 13 (241-A) is a heavy express train steam locomotive paired with a tender, finished in a classic black paint scheme with a matching black frame. This version is specific to the "EDELWEISS" express train passenger car set and features modifications to the smoke deflectors typical for this type. The locomotive is equipped with dual kerosene headlights, one mounted above and one below, and bears the road number EST 241 004, representing its appearance around 1931.

    Orient Express Passenger Car Prototype History:

    This set features six distinct parlor cars painted and lettered for the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits et des Grands Express Européens (CIWL), representing the EDELWEISS PARLOR CAR EXPRESS as it appeared in 1937. The set includes two type DD3 baggage cars, one type VPC "Côte d'Azur" parlor car with a galley, one type VP "Côte d'Azur" parlor car without a galley, one type VPC "Étoile du Nord" parlor car with a galley, and one type VP "Étoile du Nord" parlor car without a galley. The train's route encompassed Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg, Strasbourg, Basel, Lucerne, and Zurich.
