The DB Mainline Traffic Frankfurt/M-Würzburg - Heigenbrücken in H0
150 Pictures
This newest dream-layout from the studio of master modeler Josef Brandl depicts one of the best known mainlines of the Federal German Railroad, namely the line which crosses the Spessart mountains between Würzburg and Frankfurt on the Main. Its traffic had (and still has) everything that makes a model railroader’s heart beat faster. To begin with, one can find all types of passenger trains: top of the line TEEs, Intercities (ICs) and all kinds of express trains, as well as short commuter trains. Furthermore, every type of freight train from heavy through freights to short transfer runs, which may switch at every location, can be seen working this line. The station of Heigenbrücken as it appeared in the 1970s is at the center of this amazing layout. Since it is modeled almost to scale, the platforms are long enough to accommodate even long express-trains with 10 cars. Josef Brandl not only creates perfect scenery for his layouts, he has also made it a tradition to build perfect replicas of all the important buildings in a town. The spectator will be fascinated by the perfect representation of Lower Franconia’s country side. As on other layouts built by Brandl, sweeping track and generous curves set a magnificent stage for the classic locomotives and trains from the heydays of the Federal German Railroad. This new special edition of Eisenbahn Journal is a must-have for all Brandl fans, and will be a particular enjoyment for all who love proto-type modeling!
