Product Features and Details
Prototype: When it comes to modeling European trains one of the more popular time periods to model is Era I. Era I is desirable because it deals with many of the private state railways from the years 1835 to 1925. The Bavarian State Railways is among the most exciting railways to model in this time period because they incorporated many unique and impressive steam locomotives which were painted in exquisite liveries. With its eight driven axles and angled piston rods the E-I was truly a capable freight locomotive. The E-I was built by "Krauss & company in 1896. They produced these locomotives for the medium to heavy freight service to run on both main lines and branch lines.
Model: Many collectors have been waiting for Micro-Metakit to produce this exquisite freight locomotive. The E-I is completely functional and highly detailed just like the prototype. The model has a functional twin cylinder drive system. You will notice that the E-I has a small cylinder above the large cylinders, a remarkable accomplishment. It also features a brush-less, ironless "Faulhaber" motor, full cab interior, functional boiler hatch with inner boiler details and removable roof. The EI is handmade out of brass and available in six versions. Quantities will be limited so order soon.
