Product Features and Details
Prototype: In the 1930's the Deutsche Reichsbahn needed a locomotive that was capable of reaching speeds of 100 kilometers or higher. They commissioned the German Locomotive manufactures to build some prototypes and the Borsig Locomotive manufacturer in Berlin received the contract in 1935. Borsig developed the BR 03.193 which was very fast and extremely efficient.
Model: Micro Metakit's 03.193 is a handmade brass model and is painted in the DRG gray and black livery. Model features full cab interior with functional inspection doors which open and close. Actually the incredible thing about the model is that under the shrouding is a complete locomotive with all the details. When you lift the inspection doors you will find a complete drive assembly with pistons, drive rods, boiler and so on. Other manufactures would just produce the outside shell and call it a day but not Micro Metakit. The model is detailed just like the prototype. Model is equipped with a T37 tender, Faulhaber type brushless ironless bell shaped motor, sprung loaded puffers and much more. Model is a masterpiece and it features too many technical and optical details to list.
Please keep in mind that quantities are extremely limited, so order quickly. Micro Metakit will only produce about 50 models worldwide. We expect to take delivery sometime in April 2009.
