Prototype: In the 1930's the Deutsche Reichsbahn experimented heavily with streamlining express locomotives. Streamlining made the locomotives faster and more efficient. The BR03 express locomotives were fitted with a many variations of streamling, from fully skirted versions to partial streamling. The BR 03.204 was fitted with side side aprons and was built by Borsig/Berlin-Hennigsdorf factory under the (fabrication No. 14554). The 03.204 was delivered in 1936, it was equipped with a two-cylinder drive system and a 2`3T32 type tender. The 03.204 was painted in the traditional black/red livery.
Model: Micro Metakit's 03.204 is a handmade brass model and is painted in the DRG black/red livery. It features full cab interior, functional boiler hatch with full boiler details and a Faulhaber type brushless, ironless bell shaped motor. Model is equipped with a large 2'3T32 type tender, side aprons and sprung loaded puffers. Model is a masterpiece and it features too many technical and optical details to list.
Please keep in mind that quantities are extremely limited, so order quickly. Micro Metakit will only produce about 50 models worldwide. We expect to take delivery sometime in April 2009.
