Electric locomotives with rod drives are among the highlights of the model railroad layout. The often archaic exterior and the visible power transmission radiate the fascination of past railroad epochs. PIKO captured this perfectly and transferred it to 1:87 scale. The constructive symbiosis of excellent model implementation and excellent driving characteristics characterize the newly developed PIKO E 91. The sharp engravings of the housing, paired with a very fine print and garnished with extremely delicate pantographs make the locomotive a piece of jewelry. It draws power from a five-pole PIKO motor, two finely balanced flywheels ensure continuous travel even when the track is difficult. Of course, the model has a light change using LED technology with red tail lighting. Additional lighting functions can be switched by retrofitting a digital decoder; a PluX22 interface according to NEM 658 is available for simple installation.
