Novelty 2024: Form variant of the BR 103 as a short version of the DB in Era IV. The model impresses with a heavy die-cast metal frame with a finely detailed housing, the finest paintwork and printing and filigree metal single-pole pantographs. The five-pole, ball-bearing motor with two flywheels ensures excellent driving characteristics. The LED light changes to white/red depending on the direction of travel and, like the driver's cab interior lighting, can be controlled digitally with a PluX22 decoder. The model has a matching PSD XP sound decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker ex works. The model bears the “fits mfx†quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Marklin digital centers, a new quality mark fits mfx was introduced together with Marklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone a special mfx test and have passed it completely. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed carry the fits mfx quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx functionality. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx†logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx.
