New in 2024: Variant of the BR 181.2 of the DB with Luxembourg printing in era IV. The PIKO model of the important multi-system locomotive series 181.2 shows all the relevant details of its prototype and impresses with the finest paintwork and printing, raised nameplates on the sides, specially attached front handles and Door handle bars, sharply engraved bogie covers, fine insulators and current collectors with different grinding pieces. The lighting is done using LEDs. The driver's cab and engine room lighting, which is installed as standard, can be controlled digitally with a PluX22 decoder, as can the taillights, which function depending on the direction of travel. A powerful five-pole motor with flywheels that drives all four axles ensures excellent driving characteristics. The heavy PIKO model has two traction tires and a heavy die-cast zinc frame for high pulling forces. The PIKO 181.2 has a matching PSD XP sound decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker ex works. The model bears the “fits mfx†quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Marklin digital centers, a new quality mark fits mfx was introduced together with Marklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone a special mfx test and have passed it completely. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the fits mfx quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx functionality. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx†logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx.
