Product Features and Details
Novelty 2026: The design of the distinctive diesel-electric T669 from CKD Prague is based on export orders for six-axle diesel locomotives for heavy shunting in the former Soviet Union and Albania. After the completion of the three prototypes – designated ?ME for the Soviet Union and T669.0 for the CSD – the locomotives were successfully tested and immediately put into series production. Since CKD Prague was fully occupied with export orders at the time, production was transferred to ZTS Dubnica in Slovakia.
The excellent running characteristics led to a follow-up order in 1967 for the CSD, where they were put into service as Class T669.1. Additional machines went directly to industrial railway customers. Very quickly, the locomotives became an essential part of all major marshalling yards in the USSR and Czechoslovakia. Through frame modifications, the axle load could be reduced on some machines. The first of these modified locomotives, T669 0082, was renamed T669 1001.
Based on a precisely manufactured, heavy die-cast frame and a motor with two flywheels, the model offers excellent running characteristics and prototype-accurate pulling power. Four axles are powered. Each bogie has one wheelset fitted with traction tires for additional pulling power, arranged diagonally. The model features a PluX22 interface and is prepared for retrofitting with sound.
