Novelty 2025: The class 216 in the DB Cargo version in Era V. The special features of the prototype were precisely transferred to the model during construction. The PIKO model combines the prototypical implementation with excellent driving characteristics. The effective use of perfect engravings and a paint scheme that is consistent down to the smallest detail emphasize the attractive shape. Contemporary LED technology serves as the basis for the light change in red/white and the digitally switchable light functions. The model has a matching PSD XP sound decoder with a large loudspeaker and impresses with a wide range of digital and sound functions. The model bears the “fits mfx®” quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliable for all users of the current Märklin digital command stations, a new “fits mfx®” quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test. These decoders and also the locomotives in which they are installed bear the “fits mfx®” quality mark, which certifies unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx®” logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
