Prototype: The Polish SM42 in Era VI livery. Between 1965 and 1978, 268 class 42 diesel locomotives were delivered to PKP. The four-axle locomotives have a length over buffers of 14240 mm, a weight of 71 tons and an engine output of 590 kW. The power transmission is diesel-electric and the top speed is 90 km / h. The class 42 is divided into three series - the SM as a freight locomotive, the SP as a passenger locomotive and the SU as a universal locomotive. The most noticeable distinguishing feature of the locomotives is the silencer for the passenger train heater located on the short front end. The large headlamps and the central driver's cab are typical of the BR 42. The model reproduces the proportions of the prototype very well. Sharp engravings on the bogies show details such as axle bearing covers and spring elements. The housing with the fan grilles, flaps, handrails and railings was designed according to prototype documents. A powerful motor drives all four wheel sets of the model via two cardan shafts. Prepared for digital operation with sound, the model can be easily converted at any time. The paintwork and lettering are authentically based on the model.
