Product Features and Details
New for 2026: The PIKO model of the T 679.2 locomotive is a true-to-prototype H0 model of this locomotive type. Typical features included the separately applied handrails in front of the driver's cabs and the uncluttered roof.
Although shorter than the Class 132, the T 679.2 appears larger and more imposing in model form thanks to its lowered front aprons. Prototype-minded model railroaders will also be impressed by the robust bogie detailing, which withstands the rigors of everyday operation on a model railway. The motor with two flywheels, together with the heavy die-cast zinc frame and the elegant cardan shaft drive on four axles (two wheels with traction tires in a diagonal arrangement), gives the model excellent running characteristics and high tractive effort.
Technically, the PIKO design is state-of-the-art and comes standard with a modern PSD XP decoder with sound and numerous functions.
