Novelty 2024: Form variant of the BR E.428 of the FS in Era III. The Italian E.428 also has a stately appearance in the model: the elongated locomotive body and the massive leading bogies characterize the image. The new PIKO model reflects these attributes and the strikingly designed front excellently. The side surface is structured by fine rivet bands and the flush engine room windows. A powerful five-pole motor works in the housing. Two precisely balanced flywheels improve the running properties and help overcome small contact problems with the tracks. The model comes with a PSD XP sound decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker and has various lighting functions. The model bears the “fits mfx†quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Marklin digital centers, a new quality mark fits mfx was introduced together with Marklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone a special mfx test and have passed it completely. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed carry the fits mfx quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx functionality. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx†logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx.
