Prototype: The French class BB 67000 series diesel-electric locomotives were designed for both freight and passenger use in the early 1960’s. The first series were manufactured by Locomotive manufactures Brissonneau and Lotz in Aytre and Charente-Maritime France. In 1963, a delivery of the BB 67001 was made to Chambery followed by the BB 67041.124 locomotives had been produced and over the years a bulk of the locomotives had been rebuilt as the BB 67200 and the BB 67300. The Class 67000 were a very important locomotive for the French railroads and are considered one of the most iconic French diesel locomotives.
