At the end of the 19th Century, the Mosel route was completed and the city of Ehrang with it's small freight yard with adjacent depot became a very important depot in the Eifel region between Germany and Belgium.. A rapidly increasing number of trains required more and more locomotives, so by the beginning of the 20th Century the Ehranger depot had to be extended several times. The depot in Ehrang became the largest depot in that part of Germany in 1925 for freight traffic on the Mosel and Saar, in the Eifel region as well as France and Luxembourg. Strong freight locomotives such as BR58's and BR44's were used. Book includes authentic documents, testimonies and 220 incredible photographs from two generations of locomotive enginners and the history of the Ehrang route from 1914 till present.
