The Gran Confort carriages of the FS of the orders of 1985 and 1988, which immediately differ from the previous ones by the presence of reinforcing ribs on the roof, were divided almost equally into compartment and saloon carriages, which, although having the same capacity (48 seats, all in first class), but have different interior layouts.
Under the saloon carriages, two units have been equipped since construction for the carriage of disabled and classified AH, with a small reduction in seating due to the greater space required for wheelchairs and with one end having a specially equipped retreat space.
