The BR 52 Steam Locomotive features a DCC interface, can motor with flywheel, all metal frame, bi-directional prototypical lighting and all wheel drive. Model has extensive detail and great running performance.
Prototype: Series 52 locomotives, a version of the series 50 which had been simplified due to wartime conditions, were built in large numbers from 1942 onwards. In this version, all non-essential parts were eliminated and the design was further modified to allow as simple a production procedure as possible. After the end of the war, those locomotives which remained in use in various countries and states were taken into the rolling stock inventories of the respective railway administrations and many of the simplified components were gradually replaced by higher-quality parts.
