    In the fifties, the Belgian state railroad purchased over 200 diesel-electric locomotives built under American license from AFB in Belgium. The type corresponded to the NOHAB type built in Sweden. The locomotives were used in front of passenger and freight trains, also in cross-border traffic to Germany, France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
