The S 10 steam locomotive – built from 1910, road number 1108 – was a key express train engine of the KPEV, designed to haul heavy trains at high speed over long distances. Its four-cylinder compound engine and characteristic 2’C wheel arrangement allowed for powerful, smooth running, making it one of the most reliable locomotives on main lines across Prussia. The model is enhanced with a PluX interface with sound, LED lighting, and inserted lamp lenses. Fine metal spoked wheels, a low-lying running board with wheel arches, and decorative lining faithfully reproduce the elegance of the original locomotive.
The train is complemented by five historically accurate passenger and service cars:
- 1st/2nd Class Express Coach: Green livery with delicate yellow pinstriping, ivory-colored roof, and small upper windows along the roofline matching the carriage body. Designed for comfort and style, these coaches reflect the refined travel of the Prussian elite.
- Two 3rd Class Express Coaches: Chocolate brown livery with delicate yellow pinstriping, one with train-end boards; both feature ivory-colored roofs and small upper windows along the roofline matching the carriage body. These coaches served the majority of travelers, offering practical yet elegant accommodations.
- Sleeping Car: Green livery with yellow pinstriping, ivory-colored roof, and small upper windows along the roofline matching the carriage body. The sleeping car brought long-distance travel comfort to overnight journeys.
- Baggage Car: Brown livery with ivory-colored roof and small upper windows along the roofline matching the carriage body, providing space for luggage and parcels to support express services.
Together, locomotive and coaches create a complete, historically inspired express train set that captures the beauty, craftsmanship, and sophistication of early 20th-century Prussian rail travel.
