LOCOMOTIVE:
Prototype: The German Railways Class 012 was a Pacific-type 4-6-2 steam locomotive built for passenger service starting in 1960's and 70'd. It's design was based on the German 01 Pacific; also an Einheit (standard design) passenger locomotive. The 012 also hauled fast passenger trains in the highly frequented D-train network, the Deutsche Reichsbahn ordered a total of 55 series 01.10 locomotives in 1939. The big advantage of the express steam locomotive was that it could reach a maximum speed of 140 km/h. When used with long distance passenger trains, the locomotives were able to keep, even on inclined rail sections, a constant speed of 100 km/ h. During the conversion work at the Deutsche Bundesbahn, oil firing was to be installed and, from 1968 on, the “Iron horses” were designated series 012.
Model: Like all Roco steam locomotives the BR012 has extensive cosmetic details which includes a high quality paint finish, crisp lettering, inset windows, brake shoes between wheels and interior details in the driver’s cab. Mechanically: Roco HO Gauge locomotives are some of the best models on the market. This model has a fully functional, finely detailed Heusinger valve gear and prototypical “daylight” between the boiler and chassis. Motor: Roco locomotives are equipped with a powerful 5 pole motor with flywheels and high quality gears which gives the model smooth running characteristics and excellent performance, model has both locomotive and tender drive, five axles are powered. DCC and Lights: Model is equipped with a factory installed DCC sound decoder and prototypical triple LED lights which coordinated with direction of travel. Couplers: Model comes with NEM 362 close coupler pockets. Construction: Model has a cast metal chassis and plastic shell

PASSENGER CARS:
Set consists of three Roco blue 1st class coaches, one Piko green 2nd class coach, one red Roco DSG restaraunt car and one Brawa luggage car. Highly detailed coaches with full interiors. Coaches can be retrofitted withl interior lighting kits. Coupler pocket according to NEM 362 standards with close coupling mechanism.
