The class 1110 is an electric locomotive for fast trains of the ÖBB and was delivered from the mid-1950s on. In the years 1974 and 1975, ten class 1110 locomotives were equipped with dynamic brakes for the use with direct current. The retrofitted locomotives kept their old classification number and were given the serial number 1110.5. Particular distinguishing characteristics are the large superstructures on the roof ends with the vents for the electro-dynamic brake and the "Einholm" pantographs. The locomotives reached a top speed of 110 km / h and used to haul fast and goods trains.
