The Dutch State Railways procured the 2-axis displacement diesel locomotives from 1934 to 1951 at the manufacturer Werkspoor, a delivery series also at CW Zwolle. A total of 169 pieces were built in some series and slightly different versions. Due to their distinctive exhaust noise, they are “sikken” or “sikken”. “Sik” – singular for “goat” – has become the term for railway workers and railway friends.
The model can only be operated to a limited extent with analogue driving devices.
