    Electric locomotive 420 501 of Swiss railway company BLS. - 1st construction series of Re 4/4 II - With many separately attached plug-in parts, in part using etching technology - Pantograph with innovative fastening - Etched type plate - With switchable high beam and individually switchable headlight or tail light, driver’s cab lighting and machine room lighting in digital mode - Z21 driver’s cab available Re 4/4 II 11110, built for the SBB in 1966, was sold to BLS at the end of 2004 together with five other machines. The Re 420 501 was not only the first silver “BoBo”, it was also the only one that initially ran with an SBB number, but with the BLS logo on the SBB. The locomotive was used by BLS for passenger as well as freight traffic. The cargo ban only applied to numbers 507-512. The 501 was also the last Re 420 to leave BLS and was handed over to the Extrazug.ch association. It plans to paint it green again in the future.
