For more than twenty years, the Munich-based company Lokomotion has been operating in transalpine freight transport. It is now well-known among railway enthusiasts for its diverse fleet of "Zebra" locomotives. These locomotives operate on routes such as the Brenner Pass to Italy, the Tauern Railway to Slovenia, and the Danube Railway towards Eastern Europe. Lokomotion provides these services in close cooperation with DB Cargo and the Italian Rail Traction Company, which have a stake in the Munich-based company. The blue stripes represent Bavaria and the red stripes represent South Tyrol.
