Prototype: German Federal Railroad (DB) type ADümh 101 vista dome car. 2 small 1st class compartments, a large raised vista dome area with service areas under it. Special design for TEE service, version with rounded roof ends, glassed in dome area with 8 side windows. Example of use: "Rheinpfeil" of 1971.
Model: The car has the new, longer length. It has underbody details with skirting specific to this type of car. The trucks have brake shoes, magnetic rail brakes, and a separately applied generator. The car is ready for installation of 66719 lighting kit, and the Märklin 73407 marker light kit. Minimum radius for operation 356 mm / 14". Length over the buffers 282 mm / 11-1/8".

The 23421, 23422, 23423, 23424, and 23425 models together with the 22032 locomotive make up the famous TEE trains of the Seventies – such as the "Rheinpfeil". The TEE "Rheinpfeil" is available from Märklin for 3-rail AC operation as a complete train, item no. 26540.
