Product Features and Details
Model: With the newly designed model of the railbus VT 2.09 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn, PIKO meets the oft-demand of many model railroaders for a contemporary, detailed and operational version of the well-known piglet tax. Following the development of the innovative control logic of the DB railbus, for which PIKO received the Golden Track in 2017, it now makes sense to implement the widespread counterpart from East Germany with attention to detail and a corresponding logic. The railcar is powered by a powerful micro motor, which is equipped with flywheel masses for perfect running characteristics and has a factory-installed buffer capacitor for optimum driving characteristics without any sound interruptions. The drive acts on both axles of the railcar. Traction and control cars are coupled together via a current-conducting short-circuit kinematics. The lighting functions of both vehicles are separately switchable, the clear view through the passenger compartments possible. The traction vehicle, for example, independently registers whether a control car is attached and then switches off the illumination between the vehicles. The PIKO piglet taxis are prepared for an uncomplicated retrofitting with sound and the largest possible loudspeaker.
