LAND ONLY PRICE (per person)                    $3095.00

    Day 1, Friday, February 03

    Chicago-Frankfurt
We are leaving Chicago late afternoon on your non-stop flight to Frankfurt. Cocktails and dinner will be served en route.

    Day 2, Saturday, February 04

    Frankfurt-Lichtenfels

One hour before landing they will serve breakfast. After checking through immigration and customs you will board your train to Lichtenfels. After checking into the hotel the afternoon is free for your own activities. We will meet for dinner at 7:30 and probably will call it a night after that.

    Day 3, Sunday, February 05

    Nürnberg Toy Fair

The Toy Fair is surely the highlight of our tour. For any individual that likes toys, trains, Christmas ornaments or any hobby related products this fair is a must. Visiting the Toy Fair is a rare opportunity, because it is not open to the public; our guests are allowed to visit the fair because we get them in as employees. The fair is a treat for our eyes. The manufactures’ booths are incredible with all the new products, all the layouts and dioramas – we will be like kids in a candy store.

    Day 4, Monday, February 06

    Coburg-Meiningen

This is definitely another highlight of our tour. Meiningen is the only repair facility in Germany for steam locomotives. Even more surprising they built a brand-new steam locomotive for the narrow gauge line on the island of Rügen. There is not much more to say you have to see it yourself.

    Day 5, Tuesday, February 07

    Cranzahl-Oberwiesenthal

This is one of the nicest narrow gauge train rides in Germany. Our destination point (Oberwiesenthal) is 2999 feet above sea level and therefore the highest situated town in Germany. Besides tourism and winter sports Oberwiesenthal is also known for their wood carvings. Expressive items from this region are the “Smoking Men, the Christmas Pyramids and the Schwibbogen”. I am sure you can find an artsy item for yourself.

    Day 6, Wednesday, February 08

    Lichtenfels-Hamburg
Well, our days in Bavaria are over and today we will head to Hamburg. We will board our ICE to Hamburg, which will bring us there within 5 hours. After we settle in our new hotel, we give you the rest of the day off to relax or do as you wish.

    Day 7, Thursday, February 09

    Hamburg-City and Harbor Tour

The first day in Hamburg we will use for sightseeing with a local guide. All the important attractions will be on this route, like the Michel’s Church, the Red Townhall, the Elbe Tunnel and so on. We hope that we can also arrange a boat tour through the huge Hamburg harbor.

    Day 8, Friday, February 10

    Hamburg-Airbus Factory

As you know there are other means of transportation besides trains. To check this out we will visit the Airbus factory in Hamburg. In this factory they do the final assembly of the A320 family. If we are lucky we will also get a glimpse of the A 380 interior assembly. After a visit to the Airbus Shop we will bring you back to the city where you can do you shopping for you and your loved ones at home.

    Day 9, Saturday, February 11

    Hamburg Miniature Wonderland

This is my real highlight on our trip. You might have been before at this fabulous layout but if you haven’t been there in the last year you missed the new airport. The airport was planned to open already in 2008 but because those guys are such perfectionists it took them to open up this segment till May 2011. You have to spend the whole day to see everything. We will also arrange a tour behind the scenes to show you all the technology which goes into a project like this.

    Day 10, Sunday, February 12

    Frankfurt-Chicago

Like all good things, this tour will come to an end today. Breakfast is early in the morning with hotel check out to follow. We will transfer to Hamburg Airport and fly back home via Frankfurt.

    WELCOME HOME!
