RENFE Class 591.400 "Ferrobus" 2-car diesel multiple unit, silver with UIC marking | with DCC digital sound decoder.
Following the success of the first Ferrobús, RENFE procured further technically and operationally improved trains from 1966 onwards. These now consisted of four-car trains with two power cars at the ends and two intermediate cars, which increased power and capacity. Improvements such as pneumatic doors were also introduced. A total of 34 trains were built, numbered FER/FRI 401–468, with each half-unit counted separately. From 1967, another series followed with a modified configuration of two power cars, totaling 27 trains (FER 469–522) with a total power output of 600 hp.
